To Emma GraceAs Matt looked forward to the birth of his second
daughter and during her life, he wrote a poem to Emma Grace and we would like
to share it with you. The cold winds of December
Blow
to test your faith But
all the scarves and wool down blankets Cannot
warm my heart as near as much As
the day that I found Grace Lakes
and springs begin to melt Green
peeks through the ice Hope
in May Inspirations
from a springtime day Cannot
compare in any way To
the joy I feel but cannot say On
the day that I held Grace Cannonballs
and Popsicles Slip
and Slides to beat the heat Lemonade
in a sweaty glass
May
still the sun or quench your thirst Nothing
else could ever be As refreshing as the feeling of
The
day that I met Grace Burnt
orange and crimson Leaves
fall all day long Football
in the snow Pumpkins
all aglow Cider
by the fire May
make cold a liar I’d
throw it all away tonight For
that one moment burning bright The
day that I knew Grace My
daughter, Emma Grace
---DAD We would like to extend a special thanks to Audie
Burger and Brad Womack, along with their staffs, of Forest Glen Country Club
for their cooperation and assistance. |
